Living Bible Tours

Hi. My name is James McKeever. I was born in the UK to a mixed Christian and Jewish family. I was taught in Christian schools and given Jewish education at home. After completing a degree in philosophy, I came to Israel as a volunteer soldier in the infantry before making Aliyah and becoming a citizen. I live in a kibbutz on the Sea of Galilee with my wife and daughters where I worked as a fisherman before studying and becoming a licensed guide. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and reading. I now organize and guide trips to Israel, taking care of every aspect of the trip as well as guiding virtual tours online. My speciality is connecting the New and Old Testaments, talking about “Jewish Jesus”, the religious and political context of the time in which he lived and studying Gospel passages in this context.

Edan Geva

Edan’s parents came to Israel when he was 3 years old and they settled in a Kibbutz by the Sea of Galilee. He tried teaching other kids in his child care house some Canadian manners, with partial success. :-). In high school Edan worked in the dairy farm, and after his military service, in a tank unit, he went on studying history, theology, and archaeology. He also participated in the excavations of Sussita.
When touring with Edan you will benefit from his life experience of childhood in a kibbutz, military service, agricultural experience, and academic level studies. Oh yes, and he still has quite a few of his Canadian manners.

Effi Yaacobi

I believe after 50 years of living here I am well placed to take my guests on a journey, and let them  see Israel through my eyes and begin to understand the complexities of living in this region as we learn, hear, taste and feel this country as we cover history (past and present), peoples, religions,  nature, and archaeology.

My guests walk through a time-line, letting them see history unfold before their eyes, and walk in the footsteps of ancient empires and civilizations that came, marched, conquered, ruled and left.
We recount on the biblical and historical figures from the time of the Bible that impacted the world then, and still impact the world of today- and knowing that where you are treading is where the 12 tribes settled where King David and King Solomon ruled, where 2 Temples stood, and where Jesus and the Apostles walked and taught, is nothing short of an awesome and humbling experience!

Travelling with me in Israel is not a monologue of dates but a series of interesting, captivating and even humorous stories, all placed in a logical sequence of events and all conducted in a passionate manner. Everything we do during a trip is adapted to the level of interest and pace of my guests and all in a relaxed leisurely manner.

Joe Sofair

As a resident of the Galilee and Golan for over 40 years I can show the out of the way places and introduce them to the locals who will tell their stories first hand.
The fascination I have for the local history allows me to show the many facets of Israel, be it Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Druze or Bahai OR ancient history and current issues.
The Sea of Galilee is the center of Jesus’ early life and through the Galilean geography it is possible to get a better understanding of his message and calling which is relevant to all Christians.
